PPS hosting toy and winter clothing donation drives
To support families in need during the holiday season, the PPS Office of Youth Risk Prevention is again hosting a toy drive as well as a “Winter Wears” donation drive. Staff and community members can drop off new, unwrapped toys or new coats, hats, gloves and scarves to Room 10 in the S.H. Clarke Building (2801 Turnpike Road, Portsmouth, VA 23707). These items may be brought in on or before Monday, Dec. 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. For more information, call 757-393-8411.
NEW: Churchland High School hosting annual poinsettia sale
Poinsettias grown at Churchland High School as part of the school’s horticulture program are being sold while supplies last. Sales can be made from 7 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday, at the school. NEW: Schools to close for winter break; students and staff to return Jan. 3
Schools and administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 20 through Tuesday, Jan. 2, with all staff and students returning from winter break Wednesday, Jan. 3. The full calendar is always available on ppsk12.us.
