Portsmouth Public Schools (PPS) Superintendent Dr. Elie Bracy, III has been elected as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS).
“I am humbled by this show of support from my colleagues and their confidence in my ability to provide meaningful insight to our role in public education today,” Bracy said. “I look forward to collaborating with my fellow Board Officers to ensure every superintendent has their voice heard as we work to make the best decisions possible for our districts and divisions.”
According to its website, VASS is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to the mission of providing leadership and advocacy for public education in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It was founded in 1885, and has been identified as a prominent leader among all Virginia education organizations with its influence in the field and in policy making at both state and federal levels.
