
Brighton Elementary School’s Lenette Hillian-Sanders has been named one of just two national Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD) 2021 Teachers of the Year. Hillian-Sanders earned this honor after being named the Virginia Council for Learning Disabilities Teacher of the Year this past spring.
According to the CLD, this honor recognizes outstanding teachers who are “dedicated to implementing evidence-based instructional practices and collaborating with classroom teachers and other service providers to greatly improve the quality of education for all struggling learners.”
With this honor, Hillian-Sanders will be recognized at the Annual International Conference on Learning Disabilities this October in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD) is an international organization composed of professionals who represent diverse disciplines, is committed to enhancing the education and quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities across the life span.
