Portsmouth Public Schools

The Portsmouth Public Schools Department of Communications brought home five honors as part of the 2023 National Schools Public Relations Association (NSPRA) School Communication Awards.

PPS staff submitted five entries to the Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards, which “recognize outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, digital media programs, radio/TV/video programs, social media, infographics, blogs and websites.” All five of the division’s entries earned honors.

The winning entries are below:

• Award of Excellence – Dr. Bracy’s Holiday Message
• Award of Excellence – Career and Technical Education in Portsmouth Public Schools
• Award of Merit – Teacher Appreciation Week
• Award of Merit – Minds in Motion I Richmond Ballet & Portsmouth Public Schools
• Award of Honorable Mention – Division Annual Report

According to NSPRA, entries are judged by category for organizations of a similar type and size. Each entry is judged on the overall excellence of the entry as well as its quality compared to other entries in the category.
