School Entry Procedures
All Portsmouth schools use the Raptor Visitor Management System. The procedure enables each school building to screen all visitors against a national sexual offender database and it establishes a consistent sign-in process across the school division.

Visitors are welcome and all parents are encouraged to be an active part of their children’s educational experience. The goal of this system is simply to enhance the safety and security of both students and staff by prohibiting school access to those who pose a potential threat.

How It Will Work

  • All visitors, including parents, will be asked to report to the main office or security desk upon their arrival at the school.
  • Security or office staff will request that each visitor provide their government issued ID.
  • The visitor’s name, address, and photo will be checked for a match to a national sexual offender database and other public records regarding people who cannot access school property.  Visitors who are not in the database will be issued a date-specific visitor’s badge. These badges must be worn at all times while on the school grounds.
