Strong schools contribute to strong communities. At Portsmouth Public Schools, the community is invited to come on board and partner in the education of students. Here's how:
Volunteer
There are many opportunities an individual can help students and schools. From tutoring and mentoring to coaching and administrative support, people can help fill many school needs. Complete this application and either return it to the school you’d like to help in or email it in [email protected]. Volunteers will be screened by PPS staff. Based on school needs, principals or other administrators will follow up about the next available volunteer opportunity.
Partner with schools
Does your business or organization want to help make an impact on student success? That can take place in any number of ways including providing guest speakers, internships, job-shadowing opportunities or donation drives. Currently, the division has more than 300 partners who work with schools throughout the year.
New ideas
Do you have an idea of a new program or initiative you would like to see in Portsmouth Public Schools. Share your great ideas directly with Superintendent Dr. Elie Bracy, III. You can pitch an idea, brag about a school program, share an opinion or ask a question directly at [email protected].
