As part of the division’s CTE program, staff connect any interested student with work-based learning opportunities. With work-based learning, students can work alongside today’s companies, businesses or organizations and receive on-site training and experience that not only informs students on the current state of the workforce, it also gives high school credit and looks great on a resume. Students do not have to be enrolled in a CTE pathway to take part in a work-based learning opportunity.
Work-based learning experiences include:
- Career Awareness – Job Shadowing, Service Learning
- Career Exploration – Externship, Internship, Mentorship, School-Based Enterprise
- Career Preparation – Clinical Experience, Cooperative Education, Entrepreneurship, Apprenticeships, Supervised Agricultural Experience
