School Nutrition

The Food Services Department of Portsmouth Public Schools is dedicated to providing nutritious meals to our students and staff. It is our mission to provide the students of Portsmouth City Schools with nutritionally balanced meals that are in accordance with all USDA standards. In addition to meeting the standards of the USDA the menu is intended to appeal to the students while also maximizing the versatility of the products and expertise of our Nutrition Services staff. We aim to serve foods that introduce different cultures to our students while also utilizing local produce, highlighting different ingredients and incorporating nutrition education. With our menu, we hope to encourage students to try these new foods at home with their families and to encourage their loved ones to make healthy lifestyle changes through food.
