At the 75th anniversary of the Portsmouth Sports Club Jamboree held earlier this month, three Portsmouth Public Schools (PPS) students were named recipients of the following scholarships from the Portsmouth Sports Club Foundation:

2022 Portsmouth Sports Club Memorial Scholarship – Janare Davis, from I.C. Norcom High School

2022 Tyrone Hiles Scholarship – Zion Hill, from I.C. Norcom High School

2022 Roy Hendricks Scholarship – Luis Morales, IV, from Churchland High School.
Also at the event, PPS Procurement Manager Michael Thomas was honored as the J. Herbert Simpson Memorial Community Sports Person of the Year in recognition of his service as president of the Portsmouth Bruins Football and Cheer Association and Pop Warner National Football Program.
The Portsmouth Sports Club’s mission is to promote sports and to recognize local students, coaches and volunteers with their special achievements in athletics.
