Churchland High School again makes national ‘Best High School’ list

Churchland High School has once again made the U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best High Schools in the nation. Churchland was selected after an analysis of its student performance data, including math, reading and science state assessments, college-level exams and graduation rates.

“This is an outstanding accolade that acknowledges all of the hard work from all of our Trucker students, teachers and staff members,” said Dr. Elie Bracy, III, superintendent of Portsmouth Public Schools. “We are thrilled to see Churchland continue this legacy of excellence for yet another year, and I look forward to more outstanding successes in the year to come.”

According to U.S. News and Report, the 2022 edition of Best High Schools includes a numerical ranking of nearly all of the roughly 18,000 public high schools nationwide. In addition, there are rankings within each state and within each census-designated metropolitan area that has three or more high schools. In launching the list today, U.S. News also published detailed school-specific information on enrollment, graduation rates, student body demographics, location, school type and results of state assessments as well as Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests.
