School Counseling

VISION: The School Counseling Program of Portsmouth Public Schools seeks to provide a data driven, systemic, and developmentally appropriate school counseling program that promotes academic excellence and responsible citizenship for ALL students. 

MISSION:

The mission of the School Counseling Department is to provide equitable access for all students to learn and grow into positive role models for their communities and make an instrumental impact on the World. Participation in our comprehensive, data driven program will assist students in removing barriers and reach full potential in social emotional well being, academic achievement, and college and career readiness.  

HAPPENING NOW:

College Appreciation Week
During the week of November 16-20, all seniors will be encouraged to apply for admission to at least one college or university. School counselors will be available during this week to assist students with the application process and will be hosting special virtual events including: on-site admissions, College 101, Naviance tutorials, FAFSA completion assistance, and college fairs. For more information regarding the events taking place at your school please reach out to your school counselor.
